When in the mood for bang on Asian, Yum Yum Cha, is the choice you can never, ever go wrong with. With three outlets in the city, it is nearly impossible to get a spot in any of the outlets, at any given time of day. And they have never once gone wrong with their food. What’s more, they keep on updating their menu with exciting things – so we tried a few new ones this time and of course went back to have our favourite classics.
We started of course with watermelon and mint & pomegranate and ginger Fun bottle coolers – not just perfect but absolutely essential for Delhi’s oppressive weather right now.
We started our meal with
Crispy chicken Cheung Fun and Prawn and curry dim sum. Cheung fun, rice noodle rolls, with a crunchy noodle top, chicken, and coriander sausages, topped with chopped spring onion and tempura. Dunk in the soy to enjoy these interesting rice noodle rolls. Minced prawns and coriander stuffed in dumplings and served in a thin, yellow curry sauce. Fragrant and so delectable, the dumplings became sightly friable in the curry but tasted great all the same.
Sushi
Alaska and enoki tempura – Crab meat, tempura flakes, ponzu and loads of spicy mayo; crunchy fried enoki mushrooms, cucumbers, mayo, and truffle oil. Once again, I was bewildered that I enjoyed the vegetarian sushi more here. They always, always, surprise me more with the bang on preparations of their vegetarian selection.
Mains
We tried the Three Pepper Stone Bowl and Sichuan Prawns. The stone bowls have been my all-time favorites. Noodles, a spicy sauce with all three bell pepper, loads of chicken and perfect comfort food. The Sichuan prawns with red pepper, bell pepper, and spring onions. The prawns were super juicy.
Dessert
Mango Cheesecake became an exceptional summer dessert – a very creamy cheesecake, topped with fresh mango pulp and dusted with sugar. Very light, frothy and creamy.
The recent addition of the mango cheesecake is a must have, also their Fun Cheung rolls.
