Pear crisp with sliced pears, oats, and muesli all baked and you have a super healthy dessert. I was all about decadent chocolate desserts as a teenager. But I have taken to fruit desserts recently. And I LOVE THEM! From peach cobblers to plum galettes and cherry and chocolate ganache tarts – this summer has been a riot of stone fruit desserts. Check out some of my expeditions here and here.
I don’t usually pen down a lot of dessert recipes, but check out my no-bake coconut and blueberry tart.
Ingredients for Pear Crisp – serves 4
- Pears – 3
- Lemon juice – 1tbsp
- Cornflour – 1tbsp
- Brown sugar – 3tbsp + 1/3 cup for the topping
- Salt – 1tsp
- Cinnamon powder – 1tsp
- Rolled oats – 2/3 cups
- Muesli with dry fruits – 1/3 cup
- All-purpose flour – 1/3 cup
- Extra-virgin coconut oil – 1tbsp
- Butter – 1/4 cup, melted + more to line the baking dish
Method
- De-seed and thinly slice the pears.
- In a bowl combine the pears, lemon juice, cornflour, cinnamon powder, salt, and 3 tbsp brown sugar. Mix well and set aside.
- In another bowl, combine oats and muesli. Mix.
- Sieve through the all-purpose flour into the bowl.
- Mix in coconut oil and butter and mix well to form a crumble. I like the sweet aroma of coconut oil, but if you are like the many who are averse to it, you can simply switch it for more butter.
- Pre-heat the oven at 200 degrees for 10 minutes.
- Line a baking dish or Borosil bowl with a few drops of melted butter.
- Add the pear mix and spread generously. Spread the crisp mix evenly on top.
- Bake at 200 degrees for 35 minutes till the top becomes a crackling brown. Set to cool down for 10 minutes before serving.
Serve the pear crisp with vanilla ice cream or creme fraiche!

Oh yum, that looks absolutely gorgeous
Thank you 🙂
Would love to try this but I don’t have Cornflour on hand, what would be a good substitute? I don’t have arrowroot too
Hello, you can use all-purpose flour. It is a very good thickening agent. Use about 3/4 tbsp 🙂
