I was struck with major dumpling cravings, and Pa Pa Ya’s newly launched dim sum menu couldn’t have come at a better time. And the biggest dim sum menu in the city at that. Crystal dumplings, soup dumplings, baos and rice dumplings, they have it all. Think the pasta and dumpling war of Ugly Delicious, and now think of all of that under one roof. Pa Pa Ya houses a gorgeous bar, wine selection and lots of sunshine.
Cocktails
Summer is the best time to indulge in your favourite cocktails. The spin on Singapore Sling had my heart, Pa Pa Ya sling was just the right amount of sweet and super tropical. The Spanish GnT was the other winner, rosemary, and cucumber, too much love.

The Bar
Dimsums
Their range starts from poached, wontons, steamed baos, open faced baos, cheung fungs and more. The ones that absolutely stood out – Lamb and coriander crystal dumpling – shaped like the cutest bunny. Potato and starch dumplings and a meaty lightly spiced lamb filling. The Prawn and chives Cheung Fung was another big winner. Not many Asian places in the city have delved into this delicacy yet. This was quite spot on. Thin rolled dumpling sheet, steamed and served with light soy with burnt garlic. Xiang Long Bao – the ultimate soupy dumplings. A special mention because they are the first in the city, but they should have been much more soupy, and eaten in the traditional soup spoon.
Baos
Their baos are as tempting looking as they actually taste! Open-faced bao – crunchy chicken, loads of mayonnaise, lettuce and fried onions.
Gluttonous pork rice – sticky rice over a succulent piece of pork. The Spanish GnT is a perfect explosion of flavours for the summer.
Curries and desserts
Finished the dumpling explosion menu with Penang curry and jasmine rice. Their desserts are pretty bang on. Matcha hot chocolate cake and a chocolate bomb, more here.
With the largest dumpling menu in the city, Pa Pa Ya has also launched combo meals and brunches around the same. You have to try their baos, cheung fungs and lamb and crystal dumplings for yourself!
