If you have dined at the opulent Kylin Premier and swear by their dimsums, you are in for a treat because they are expanding like wildfire. Their latest gig is at Good Earth City Centre, Sector 50 with a traditional Asian dining space, oodles of red and a bright open kitchen. They are already mixing some killer mocktails and are all set to open doors to the bar soon.
We started with a gentle Mandarin iced tea, Italian smooch and a green chilly infused gorgeous after taste.
Sushi platter – served on a black platter, 4 pieces of tuna maki, 4 pieces of prawn tempura and 2 pieces of salmon nigiri. The maki and tempura were decent but what shone through the mix was the salmon nigiri – so beautifully wrapped that it stuck together. Dab just a bit into soy and you are golden.
Where their sushi could do with some work, the dimsums were a piece of art. We tried a whole bunch from crystal – mushroom and bokchoy and prawn and water chestnuts to Thai lamb ginger dimsum, grilled Shanghai chicken dimsums and steamed curry chicken dimsum. The meats were spot on and the skin extremely fresh. The dimsums that stood out were the grilled Shanghai chicken ones – a cross between pan-fried and tandoori fusion – the grilled chicken dimsums were crunchy and very toothsome.
We also tried the crispy konjee lamb – shredded lamb shards tossed with chilly sauce, sesame seeds and a sweet after taste.
For mains we had their chicken khao suey – a delectable lacey coconut flavor with crunchy greens and succulent pieces of chicken. Customize it to your taste with peanuts, burnt garlic and a twist of lemon.
For desserts, we tried their chocolate mahjong – dark chocolate with nuts and biscuits served with ice cream. The biscuity chocolate pop was a fresh and refreshing change from the regulars and so doorlworthy.
Hit Kylin Experience for some killer dimsums, khao suey and mocktails and the decadent chocolate mahjong.
