Holy Smoke is one of its kind slider bar offering tantalizing steaks and a range of American favorites. Two butcher knives welcome you to work on your appetite and get ready to tear apart some mean meats. The place is a haven for meat lovers with a really cool graffiti of a meat eater, chairs covered with steak print, dungeon like chains, an open kitchen and big black tables for those with bug appetites. They also have a full fledged bar and an exquisite wine collection to accompany your meats.
We started with some coolers – kafir lime and ginger ale. Both the coolers are extremely refreshing.
Their sangria both red and white too are made to a lacy perfection.
We obviously tried the slider burgers – the sliders come in options of three, six and nine. We happened to try four of those.
Heart attack – a tenderloin patty, topped with bacon and Mac and cheese. A meaty patty, topped with crispy bacon and a tiny portion of Mac and cheese, this particular one was a little on the drier side.
Mr. D’Suza – this was a recommendation and we completely loved it. Minced Goan sausages tossed in a chilly, sweet sauce oozing out of the cocktail bun.
Sloppy joes – classic sloppy joes with minced lamb slow cooked with spices was very flavoursome.
Last we tried the magic mushroom burger which was surprisingly the one I liked the most. Sauteed mushrooms with chipotle sauce oozing with honey mustard and topped with cheese.
The lemon sole meat on a stick came on skewers drizzled over with sauce and served with sautéed onions and bell pepper.
The tenderloin steak – well done was probably not the best choice but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Since we had chosen a well done steak, the meat had to be sliced in pieces to be cooked, served with the simplest crunchy vegetables, mashed potatoes and a choice of peppercorn and steak jus sauces. Enjoy your steak with peppercorn for a more spicy touch and steak jus if you enjoy subtle flavours. The condiments were seasoned just perfectly so that they didn’t overpower the meat.
We wound up our meal with a delectable brownie sundae – a warm, chewy brownie topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.
Visit them for their sliders and don’t miss out on Mr. D’Suza and magic mushroom and of course their steak.
