Breakfast at Cafe Tesu
Cafe Tesu has an extensive coffee and tea menu. So, be sure to start off with a cup of your favourite. You get to choose from classics, Whiskey barrel-aged beans and Devi Specialties. They are known for their great breakfast and rightly so. We tried Eggs Florentine and CT’s Eggs Benedict. Both eggs came with red grapes and citrusy orange slices. Creamed spinach with florentine and smoked salmon with CT’s Benedict. Each topped with creamy, zingy hollandaise, propped up on English muffins. Avocado Bruschetta – smashed avocado, diced cucumbers, onions smeared and topped with Goat’s cheese and a dash of sumac.
In-Betweens
Half and Half pizzas are the best concepts that cafes came up with! Gives you options to try more and you don’t need to order two pizzas in case of a preference conflict. That is what we did here. Half of a Six Cheese pizza and the other half, a Sicily. Ricotta, bocconcini, crumbled feta, mozzarella, Goat’s cheese and Parmesan shavings and rocket leaves to add the peppery punch. Sicily with creamy spinach, shallots, mushrooms and toasted walnuts. Spinach and cheese dumplings – creamy spinach and cheese dimsums closed with a pomegranate seed each. Dunk it in some of the black bean sauce to cut through the creaminess.
Between bread
Lamb Bourguignon burger – pounded lamb patty stuffed with brie, with arugula leaves, caramelized onions and a red-wine reduction bourguignon sauce held in a brioche bun. The lamb burger was a frenzy of flavours, served with a side green salad and the most addictive truffle fries. Mushroom and Gruyere in a baked croissant – the croissant sandwich was not far behind the burger on the taste-o-meter. A cheesy mushroom and gruyere cheese mix smeared inside a crispy baked croissant.
Must-haves are the Lamb bourguignon burger, truffle fries and most definitely their much-lauded dessert menu.
