Cafe Kangaroos was on my list ever since they had a small outlet at Baani Square and were known for their signature burger sliders. Over the years they have converted into a late night delivery outlet and done away with the sliders. They however house animal fries, cheesy meats and shakes.
Starting with Grilled Chicken Salad – crunchy bell pepper, onions and tomatoes with soft grilled chicken bits, lightly tossed and with a light creamy mayo.
Cheesy bacon garlic bread – thick cut garlic bread, smeared with garlic butter and topped with crispy, chewy bacon and yummiliscious cheese and bits of parsley. The cheese and bacon make for a killer combination which is oh so delish.
Kangaroo Special Lamb Burger – famous for their burger fare – the sesame seed bun was rather a disappointing piece with the dry texture. Holding a juicy minced lamb patty, fried egg, coleslaw, cheddar cheese, tomatoes and lettuce, the bun sort of became soggy and fell apart. The patty and dressing however were both class apart. The fries again were a sad story of thinly cut and half hearted bits.
Veg Supreme Pizza – The thin crust pizza topped with mushrooms, bell pepper – red, yellow, green and onions and pineapples, cheese on a thin rolled crust and baked to a crispy delight.
My favourite from Cafe Kangaroos has to be the cheesy bacon garlic bread.
