Buddhaz Bowl is one of those tiny, hole in the wall restaurants bringing you awesome food at reasonable prices. They are serving some amazing Asian fare, Baos and Buddha Bowls. It is one of the very few places serving good baos, and at the prices they do. They also do some pretty mean Buddha Bowls and dimsums. Don’t expect much of an ambiance, they only have a couple of tables (like any other place in Galleria) but they also deliver and are rather famous for it.
We started with the Baos (duh!) – Honey Chilli chicken Bao and Tempura chicken Bao – soft, steamed baos, lettuce, cucumbers and lined with saucy chicken bits tossed with honey and drizzled over with mayo. Even though I would have preferred some more chilly to add more flavors, it was a pretty different whip. Their tempura chicken bao is decent and could use more dressing and crunch.
Thai prawns in yellow chilly sauce – whole prawns, wrapped in a thin dimsum skin and steamed – topped with Thai yellow chilli sauce with lemongrass and herbs. Fresh flavors and a very refreshing change from prawn hargaw, this is an absolute must have here!
Buddhaz Bowl Special Eggs – these are basically scotch eggs and topped with a saucy munchurian sauce. Boiled eggs, crumb coated and fried, topped with thick munchurian sauce with a slight desi touch to it. It is a very interesting dish, but the execution could be better – something like deviled eggs or a more flavorsome sauce.
Lamb in garlic and coriander sauce Buddha Bowl with noodles and boiled eggs with tons of vegetables. Crunchy greens and protein with a lightly flavored sauce makes this a win-win wholesome meal.
Buddhaz Bowl for cheap Baos and their Prawn dimsums in Thai yellow chilli sauce.
