I love breakfasts, and I love breakfast dates. And Pune being the youthful city it is, is full of some amazing eateries, including great breakfast and brunch places. Our pick was Cabaret with Peter. Located in the bustling Baner, the Cabaret is sprawled over two floors, with gaming machines on the first floor, a bar on the ground and a cozy area with sunlight pouring in.
We started with a sharp cappuccino –
African Omelette – two sunny sides up, minced chicken, baked beans, fries and garlic butter laden toasts. The spicy chicken mince topped with two sunny sides makes a very interesting bite. Chicken sausage Omelette and Mushroom omelette – two egg omelettes stuffed with tossed chicken sausages and sauteed button mushrooms. Each served with fresh fries and garlic buttered toasts. The chicken sausages would have tasted much better had they been crisp rather than the soft ones. The mushrooms on the other hand were well tossed and had one morsel too much chilly. The brown bread toasts, garlic and butter boded pretty well with the plates.
Cabaret by Peter does pretty good breakfast plates and at a pretty decent price. The African Omelette is surely a must have.
