Eggs Florentine The Grand Kolkata

The Oberoi Grand, is the heart of the city, quite literally, as the New Market has mushroomed all around it and Park Street is a stone throw away. Despite the constant buzz in the market area, entering the property immediately takes you on a quaint trip with it’s larger than life Grandness and symmetry.
Colonial symmetry can be best spotted in the balcony attached to each room overlooking greens or the pool. The rooms, however, are the perfect balance of sleek and modern with a crisp teak study and gorgeous most mini bathtub.

Coming to the breakfast spread at Threesixtyonedegrees, they house a range of South Indian Staples and rotating options of traditional Bengali fare. A fresh juice bar, lots of muesli and cornflake options, fresh fruits and the most enviable variety of local cheese.
As a routine for three days, I started my day with two helpings of fresh watermelon juice, followed by some fresh fruits, cheese, and crackers. A portion of the fresh fruit muesli in yogurt (a personal favorite) and finishing it off with eggs.
Their scrambled eggs with bacon was an absolutely amazing preparation.

One thing that was least impressive was their bakery section, their bread selection was bang on but the sweet bakes had an underlying eggy smell which made them quite displeasing.
The service and hospitality was spot on with help always at bay but never intrusive. And must say, very observant, and so warm.
Kolkata was an amazing experience both food wise and the cultural trips I took, stay tuned for more.
