T-20 fever at Monkey Bar

IPL season is upon us again and even though my interest in the sport is limited to India-Pakistan heat. Although I am all game for some exciting menus for the season. Monkey Bar has launched a special T20 menu with appetizers inspired by the team cities and needless to say it is pretty darn awesome. And they also have a Toss Hour drinks menu at 280++ (whaaaaaaaa!)

They have come up with an eclectic menu with delicacies from each of the teams.

All the T-20 inspired dishes

Starting with Rajasthan’s Dahi ke Pithore – a chaat style dahi ke kebab with mint chutney, cool dahi, pomegranate seeds, and peas. It was my first time trying this appetizer and my feelings were rather disordered about them – the curd had an inherent pungency which did nothing to improve my feelings.

Moving on to Delhi’s Butter Chicken Samosas – not the biggest samosa fan but you absolutely cannot miss. A crunchy fried outside stuffed with a flavorsome chicken. Dunk it with mint chutney and bliss.

Chennai’s pulled pork pariyappam – crispy fried idlis, topped with pulled pork with very coastal flavors and curry leaves topped with papadum, the fusion made it a very indie taco.

Bangalore’s Chilly Garlic Butter Prawns – fresh prawns tossed with chilies, curry leaves, mustard seeds and making it a perfect bar nubble.

Punjab’s Sarson ke saag ki shaami, Makki roti – sarson ka saag turned into shaami kebabs, another crazy combination which just fit so well. Drizzle over some desi ghee if you please.

Kolkata’s Macher Chop – a Bengali favorite crispy fried fish, with poi saag and fresh mustard.

So many delicious regional delicacies, but you absolutely cannot miss out on the butter chicken samosa. I also really enjoyed with Macher Chop and the Pulled Pork Pariyappam.
