We didn’t have a Disneyland in Delhi to fulfill all our dreamy fantasies of crazy rides and meeting fabulous characters. Hell, we did not even have the much famed Essel World of Mumbai where kids were seen having boisterous amounts of fun. But, we did have Appu Ghar to fulfil all our crazy dreams of bumpy cars and water parks. Every summer and a couple more times during the year, we had mandated visits to Appu Ghar, then at Pragati Maidan. And when Appu Ghar had shut down in the heart of Delhi, it was really an end of an era.
Appu Ghar is re-creating the fun at Sector 29 now, and they are back with bigger and tons or more awesomeness – this includes a food court and the newly launch Patisserie and ice cream parlor. The shiny bright pastry shop houses tier cakes, home made cookies, biscuits, pops, pastries, cake jars and much more. They also have a range of breads – French Baguettes, masala breads, croissants and more. Their chocolate mud cake in a jar and fancy af black forrest pastry with dark and white chocolate. The green apple cupcake and blueberry cheesecake needed more work though.
What really stands out is there ice cream shop – we tried four flavors, and loved each to bits – chikoo, mango, vanilla bean and thyme and lemongrass sorbet. Each with natural and very distinct flavors and no added preservatives.
So, hit this place to re-kindle the childhood memories and do not miss out on their ice creams.
