Indus Express – the fine dine Mughlai restaurant at Vivanta by Taj, Sector 21, Dwarka. Indus Express greets you with opulent cream wall textures, huge brass utensils reminiscent of the Indus valley civilization and purest form of raw whole spices sourced directly from the farmers.
We were greeted with palat patta chaat shot and a mix of papads. The crisp battered palak patta crispy fried, poured over with cool yogurt, chutney and sev.
We started with paneer multani tikka and chicken kebabs – the chicken was well marinated and sprinkled over with green chilly bits. The paneer was super soft, juicy till the very core and propped over with whole red chilly bits, making it a very tantalizing affair.
For mains we tried the dal makhni, lahori chicken and khubani malai kofta, butter naan and Amritsari kulcha. Dal makhni – perfectly blended creamy, buttery and full of deliciousness. The khubani malai kofta was cooked in a creamy, pista gravy and kofta with a creamy paneer centre and a soft apricot. The lahori chicken gravy again was creamy and very well done but the chicken drumsticks were just not fresh enough.
We wound up the meal with a batch of their special complimentary paan ice cream and it was insane. Ice cream churned with beetle leaves and served on gulkand. This version of paan ice cream leaves you weak in the knees and satiated to the core.
Multani paneer tikka, dal makhni and paan ice cream are highly recommended.
