Breakfasts with a view of course top our list of “love at first sight”. Lotus Cafe at JW Marriot, Juhu does not only have a spread so extensive that you would have to swap for pants a size bigger (or two :P) but the gorgeous view is the cherry on top. A huge glass separates the poolside, palm trees and basically a mini paradise from the cafe and Lotus Cafe.
Their breakfast spread is among the most extensive and diverse I have chanced upon. From Dosas, paranthas, keema, pooris to a choice of eggs, waffles, pancakes, cold cuts, breads and bakes.
They also have a live counter for Mumbai favourites with a daily rotating menu.
Their Cold cuts spread is amazing complete with the perfect smoked salmon and other accompaniments include fresh fruits, cold dips (the hummus and tzatziki both very refreshing) and freshly baked breads. The waffles and pancakes live counter whips are delicious too.
Craving Eggs Benedict – poached eggs sitting on English muffins garnished with grilled sausages and bacon. This was one dish that didn’t quite add up for me here. Instead of drizzling the eggs with hollandaise and making it creamier, they put it under the heater which gives the eggs a rather crispy coating but ruins the creamy essence of eggs benedict. The bacon too was more like bacon chips instead of the chewy, smoky and explosion of flavours.
End it with their desserts and do not miss out on their cold coffee topped with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and chocolate syrup.
Cold cuts, waffles, coffee and the prettiness around, never a better way to start the morning. And they have an exclusive door that opens on Juhu beach (accessible for resident guests) so you can take a walk down the beach at your fancy.
