Darzi as the name suggests is a themed Kitchen & Bar. Designed on the concept of the tailor shop, Darzi comes straight from the streets of Saville Row London. The launch of Delhi Cocktail Week at The Darzi Kitchen & Bar was iconic that custom made cocktails and a personalized experience is what you will get at The Darzi Kitchen & Bar!
While cocktails are to Darzi, food is even better, we started off with some snacks Kandhari Paneer Tikka, Aloo Khubani ki Tikki, Thai Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Chops and Curried Calamari!
The Kandhari Paneer Tikka was very well cooked and marinated, the marination consisting of Pomegranate juice and Beetroot juice giving the paneer a reddish coating.
Aloo Khubani ki Tikki was the highlight for me, a crispy tikki topped with Choley, beetroot juliennes, dahi, mint chutney & saunt! Delectable to the core!
Thai Tandoori Chicken was a slight disappointment, while the Chicken was tender and very succulent but there weren’t any Thai flavors in that, so it was a bit strange. Lamb chops were a little spicy but beautifully cooked, the flavors were deep inside the meat.
Cheesy Spinach Mushrooms, an amalgamation of cheese and spinach, lightly garnished but with crispy exterior and cheesy interior this was very tastefull!
For the Mains we had the Darzi Mutton, Master Ji ki Dal, Kerala Fish Curry, Kohlapuri Veg Cannelloni and Kofta Methi Malai along with Anjeer Naan, yes this was really special naan!
The Mutton was cooked perfectly and was coming off the bone very easily but the gravy was loaded with salt and wasn’t relished much, same with the Master Ji ki Dal, it’s their take on Dal Makhini and is delectable to the core but a little high on salt.
The Kofta Methi Malai tasted beautiful after the high salt intake, the gravy was creamy and had an aroma of its own.
The Kerala Fish curry as the star dish, complicated flavors of corns curry leaves and coffee beasn infused together with a tomato based gravy, have this with steamed rice and this a must have combination!
The Veg Kohlapuri Cannelloni was Indianised Pasta dish, Cannelloni pasta stuffed with Kohlapuri Vegetables and in a tomato based gravy, thus this can be a gamble as the entire dish is a fusion!
The Anjeer Naan and the Cheese Naan were also much appreciated!
While the cocktails tried were decent, I have had better cocktails here only at a previous visit, so overall this place is a must try!
