Our last day of 2016 commemorated with a splendid breakfast spread at Di Ghent Cafe, DLF Phase 4. The rustic wooden Cafe is located at a picture perfect corner with sunlight sprawling in from the charming wooden windows. Heavy on teak, this place radiates a Parisienne cafe charm with potpourri of seating options, the assortments of books and its huge coffee machine that makes you reach for a cuppa.
We started with a Cinnamon Cappuccino and Cafe Mocha. Each cup came with a side of freshly baked biscuit that had an uncanny resemblance with the Chai biscuits of Hyderabad.
Pieters Eggs Benedict with creamed spinach and hollandaise. Poached eggs on a breakfast muffin, topped generously with creamed spinach and hollandaise sauce with creamed spinach on the side and orange marmalade. The creamed spinach surprisingly enough was such an addictive flavor that one bite just wouldn’t suffice. The eggs were a tad on the runny side but a marvellous preparation over all.
EYCK Panini with garlic chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, Bell pepper and cream cheese in a focaccia. A fresh foccacia, lined with succulent chicken infused with garlic, the bell pepper adding the balancing crunch, the cream cheese generously spread for dressing.
Livinus waffles – pomegranate, dark chocolate sauce, almond shavings, maple syrup and whipped cream. A stack of crispy waffles drizzled over with maple syrup, dark chocolate sauce, toasted almonds and lots and lots of pomegranate seeds. Dig into this tantalizing preparation and especially the crunchy and juiciness of pomegranate.
A little steep on the price range, this place is never the less a must visit for their ambiance and beautiful breakfast.
