Let’s WONG together

Big Wong is a well-known name when it comes to Thai or Oriental Cuisine, classic retro interiors with graffiti on walls welcome you to a very fine ambience. The wooden frames on the red brick walls add a further class to the overall décor of the place. Big Wong XL outlets are bigger than the other Big Wong outlets and they serve alcohol, but here in Mall of India Noida there is a restriction on the mall itself so don’t expect alcohol in any of the outlets here!

We started our culinary journey with Veg Cheese Rolls, a small spring roll stuffed with oodles of cheese. The crispy exterior and the melting cheese inside complemented each other very well, though overall it tasted a little bland.

We also tried many Dimsums such as Chicken Sui Mai, Thai Herbs, Crystal veg and Curry Veg and by far the best one were Thai Herbs Dimsums, they are a specialty and a must try!
Out lunch was mostly vegetarian so the next starter was Crispy corn water chestnut which were a decent option with a good combination of flavors.

The Big Wong Special Veg Sushi had numerous vegetables inside and topped sesame seeds. Best vegetarian sushi ever!

Chilli schezuan Vegetable, this was a slightly disappointing dish as the flavors of the gravy weren’t coming out. Schezuan is supposed to be spicy and with strong chilli flavors on the other hand they were very subtle.

Khao Suey, this was presented in a big bowl with all things mixed from peanuts to chilies to lemon. The proportions were great and overall it was a balanced dish but I prefer customizing my khao suey according to my preferences which is a big factor that was missing here! But overall if you aren’t so peculiar about your food, this is a must try!

Vegetarian Thai Green Curry, while the flavors were spot on the creamy nature of the curry wasn’t relished, when asking the manager told that all outlets of Big Wong make it this way which is quite strange as Thai Curry isn’t supposed to be creamy. This might attract people having Thai Curry for the first time but connoisseurs would find it uncanny.

BW moon fun rice these were the best out of the lot, ghee roasted rice with crispy grains. A delectable dish and a must order!

Big Wong XL might just win hearts with this outlet and if they could get license to serve alcohol it would be cherry on the cake.
