Experience the Magic at Arabian Nites, Gurgaon

Arabian Nites has been a legend in Delhi for over 30 years and have a loyal fan following ever since. And after their success at Vasant Kunj, they have finally branched out to SuperMart 1, Gurgaon. Just about two weeks old and they have build themselves regular customers and a following already. The place is done up beautifully – stained glass lamps, mirrors metastasizing the space and framed Arabian doodles. Through the glass you have a full view of the open kitchen, located outside the sitting area. A huge grilling machine with a capacity of grilling as many as 20 whole chicken at a time is a treat to your eyes and tickles your belly even further.

We started with a Sultan Platter – two pieces of grilled chicken, a chicken shawarma, hummus, babaghanoush and two pieeces of khubuz. The chicken shawarma, wrapped in soft khubuz with grilled chicken. The grilled chicken, cooked sans any oil, is crispy on the outside and unbelievably soft and juicy on the inside. Hummus could have been better but the babaganoush, (which I was never a fan of incidentally!) took me by surprise and was very refreshing. A special mention to the pickles which was marinated just to perfection.

Next, we tried the Beirut platter – falafel kebabs, paneer shawarma, khubuz, hummus, babaghanoush and pickle. The falafel were nice and moist and went very well with the dips. Being a hardcore non-vegetarian, I had never tried the paneer shawarma before and was rather skeptical about it. But behold! It was insane! The softness of marinated paneer and the spices made it one hell of a bite.

Lastly we got our hands on some chicken khurchan – this is not officially on the menu – but they offer it to their health freak regulars, spiked with spicy sauce sans any bread. I took one look at it and I was in love already!

Why you should visit Arabian Nites? Well, they are recreating the magic at Vasant Kunj and are nailing it! You can’t miss on their dips, pickles, grilled chicken and call me a crazy meat eater but you absolutely cannot miss their paneer shawarma.
