Whenever I want to hog on some scintillating tikkas right off the grill, (and oh yeah more importantly, unlimited!) the first place that pops in my mind is Barbeque Nation. I have been head over heels about this place ever since I saw the first outlet at Sohna Road being reviewed on a TV show. Barbeque Nation has opened outlets all over the country since and many other restaurants have come up with a similar concept but this place remains the crowned winner for me. They have many splendid fests that keep happening and the Wahrabia Fest is currently going on at Barbeque Nation and you can sample some glorious Arabian cuisine.
Keeping with the Arabian theme, an archway welcomes you, the interiors are done up with pictures of characters from Alladin and lamps.
Start your meal by picking on your free mocktail or a Kingfisher beer if you prefer. And then the illustrious dance of servers with tantalizing appetizers starts. Look out for falafel, jujeh kebab from the Arabian favourites. Cajun spiced potatoes, crispy baby prawns, fish tikka, grilled pineapple and corn on the cob are always a delight on the grill. The paneer tikka was pretty good too!
They had a special live counter with tawa chicken liver and mutton chops.
Moving on to the soups and salads. I quite enjoyed the quinoa salad, the fattoush salad and dip some bread sticks with sour cream and you are golden!
Moving onto the main-course. The non-vegetarian curries were pretty darn good, the pomfret could have been much better though. The noorani kofta, mutton biryani and dal makhni too are worth trying. Among breads, don’t forget to try their delish garlic naan.
Unlimited desserts are always always a hoot. Try some Lebanese delicacies – Baklawa and Kataif Mihshi – cheese wrapped in pancakes, a very slight dessert. For old time favourites, go for chocolate brownie and ice cream. Phirnee, coconut barfee, kulfee faluda and paan kulfi make for perfect a desi ending.
